Care
How to care for your decorations
Your handmade embroidered decorations are delicately filled with our signature Christmas scent, stitched with specialist threads, and adorned with antique details. Crafted to be cherished for years to come. Follow these care tips to preserve their beauty and fragrance.
Store in a cool, dry place:
Keep your decorations away from heat and moisture to maintain the scent and integrity of the threads. A linen drawer or decorative box stored in a cool, dry area is ideal.
Dust remover:
Use a soft-bristled brush or microfibre cloth to gently remove dust. Regular light dusting helps keep the fabric and embroidery fresh.
Minimise touching:
Try to handle your decoration as little as possible. Natural oils from your hands can cause the threads to tarnish or weaken over time.
Storage tips
Avoid direct sunlight:
Prolonged exposure to sunlight may fade the linen and thread. Store your decorations out of direct light to keep colours vibrant.
Gentle cleaning
Spot clean only:
For minor marks, gently dab with a soft cloth dampened in cold water. Avoid harsh chemicals, which may damage the linen and threads. Never soak or submerge the decoration.
Handling & care
Consider using gloves:
When moving or adjusting decorations, wearing clean cotton gloves helps avoid transferring oils or dirt.
Acid free tissue:
Wrap each decoration individually in acid-free tissue paper to protect the fabric, prevent tarnishing of metallic threads, and shield from dust.
Avoid cleaning:
Due to the delicate materials and scented filling, do not machine wash, hand wash, or dry clean. Cleaning could damage the structure and materials.
Preserve scent:
If the fragrance begins to fade, gently press the decoration to release it. Avoid tampering with the stuffing. For long-term storage, wrap decorations and store in an airtight container to keep the scent fresh.
By following these steps, your embroidered linen decorations will stay as exquisite and magical as the day you first displayed them, filling your home with charm and their soothing Christmas fragrance year after year.
