At Brit Heart our vision is to inspire families to create memorable, joyful Christmas traditions that can be passed down through the generations. More than just exquisite hand-made decorative gifts, Brit Heart embodies the spirit of a bygone Christmas, steeped in family traditions and joyful nostalgia.
Meet Amanda
Brit Heart is the creative vision of embroidery artist Amanda Altendorf, a self confessed lover of Christmas and champion for all that is British.
A keen maker and collector from an early age, Amanda discovered her passion for sewing and needlework after a career in graphic design and illustration. She began making hearts for her friends in 2009 and her business has grown from there.
Amanda’s own memories of Christmas centre on decorating the tree with her Grandmother and listening intently to her stories of the decorations, many of which she still owns today. And now, with her own family, Amanda has created her own traditions, delighting in decorating and filling her home with wonder and warmth every year.
Through her festive creations, Amanda seeks to extend this joy to others. Giving her customers a wonderful opportunity to make special memories with imaginative heirloom decorations made to be enjoyed now and passed down to the next generation.

Everything is hand-stitched with love, using the finest Liberty fabrics, antique linens, ribbons and findings and filled with our signature ‘Christmas’ scent and organic sheep wool.

Everything I create comes from the heart. Every detail is considered; from using only the most exquisite fabrics and antique linens, ribbons and trims to hand stitching each piece using traditional techniques.
